I had to serve detention today because I was “late” to school yesterday.  Technically, I was already in school when the bell for first period rang, but I wasn’t in class yet, so my teacher marked me late and sent me to the office, where a long line of students were already waiting.  The school just decided today to enforce the rules.  They never used to care that much.

Anyway, the point is, I had to go to school early today.  And listen to this, all the juniors and seniors were supposed to go to school later than usual today because all the underclassmen were taking some standardized test, but because I had detention, I still had to go to school forty-five minutes earlier than the normal time for school.  So, after detention, I had to leave the school and wait a couple of hours before coming back.

Instead of going home, however, I walked around.  Walked.  Walked.  Walked.  I don’t really know how to make walking sound like an awesome  activity, so I’m not even going to try.  But that’s how it felt.  It felt a bit invigorating to bask in the morning sun for once.

So my day started on a cheerful note.

Tennis after school practically grabbed that pleasant beginning of my day, slapped it a few dozen times, flung it around, drowned it, fried it, stuck a pike into it, and tossed it off the edge of the Earth.  Needless to say, the end of my day felt really depressing.

It took one best friend and Pokemon HeartGold, which I bought today, to retrieve that happiness from the abyss and to end my day on a satisfactory note.
