Walking Amnesia

An unfortunate break from the Deck-a-Wall momentum.  The Senior Fashion Show, which is to benefit Project Graduation for the seniors, was scheduled tonight, the night before the big day for Deck-a-Wall.

My philosophy was “Walk like you normally do, with a little more swag.”

Eh, it got a bit awkward.

I had to serve detention today because I was “late” to school yesterday.  Technically, I was already in school when the bell for first period rang, but I wasn’t in class yet, so my teacher marked me late and sent me to the office, where a long line of students were already waiting.  The school just decided today to enforce the rules.  They never used to care that much.

Anyway, the point is, I had to go to school early today.  And listen to this, all the juniors and seniors were supposed to go to school later than usual today because all the underclassmen were taking some standardized test, but because I had detention, I still had to go to school forty-five minutes earlier than the normal time for school.  So, after detention, I had to leave the school and wait a couple of hours before coming back.

Instead of going home, however, I walked around.  Walked.  Walked.  Walked.  I don’t really know how to make walking sound like an awesome  activity, so I’m not even going to try.  But that’s how it felt.  It felt a bit invigorating to bask in the morning sun for once.

So my day started on a cheerful note.

Tennis after school practically grabbed that pleasant beginning of my day, slapped it a few dozen times, flung it around, drowned it, fried it, stuck a pike into it, and tossed it off the edge of the Earth.  Needless to say, the end of my day felt really depressing.

It took one best friend and Pokemon HeartGold, which I bought today, to retrieve that happiness from the abyss and to end my day on a satisfactory note.

A “Good Surprise”

Whatever you think, this is the last thing I want you to do to me.

Much Ado About Nothing

Joe, sort of a new friend, and I walked a long way to go to a tennis shop in the other side of town.  He wanted to get a racket for a friend and had previously asked me of the price range.  I apparently told him, “$60 to $90,” which encouraged him to buy it.  I was wrong.  After walking a long way, we realized that all the rackets were at least $100.  I’ve been at the store before, but I thought there were cheaper rackets.

This kid then complains to me about wasting our time.  Walked such a long way to get nothing.  This is the same kid who, right before we entered the store, said, “Oh, the place isn’t that far.”

So, we walked all the way there for nothing.
